Gingerbread House Building

The gingerbread is my playground for baking miniature worlds in my apartment. It shows how a space holds memory, how its walls shelter people, and how light falling through a melted Jolly Rancher window transforms a house into a sanctuary. I build to commemorate, to enshrine the memory of family Christmases in our cedarwood Craftsman home in Seattle, back when we were all still together.
